"A Sunday Meatpacking Moment”
This photo was taken on a chilly Sunday morning when the city felt unusually still. Pastis has always had this timeless quality to it, the kind of place that feels alive no matter the hour. That morning, though, it was quiet. The soft clatter of breakfast plates, the faint sound of a cab passing by, people lingering over coffee a little longer than usual. There’s something comforting about the way Pastis anchors that corner of the Meatpacking District. The red awnings, the pale winter light, the steady hum of conversation all feel familiar, like a scene you’ve stepped into before. That’s what drew me to capture it, that mix of calm and movement, and the way the city slows down just enough to let you notice it.
For me, this spot has always felt like a small reminder to pause, to take in the rhythm of the morning before the day really begins.
